For our Winter 2026 session, “I Siti UNESCO in Italia”, we celebrate the beauty and cultural richness of Italy by naming each course after one of its remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Sites. From the ancient stones of Matera to the ruins of Pompei and the spiritual heart of Assisi, each class invites you to discover a new piece of Italy’s extraordinary story, while learning the Italian language and exploring the history, culture, and significance of the site that gives your course its name.

Enrich your Italian vocabulary through one of the most influential cuisines in the world: la cucina italiana! Description: We are delighted to invite you to a special event at percorsoItaliano on Thursday, February 26, featuring linguist and author Michela Tartaglia and her beautifully illustrated book An Apple a Day.

Michela will present her book and lead an engaging journey through language and idioms, exploring how everyday expressions reflect culture, history, and ways of thinking across languages, especially Italian and English. While the meaning may be the same, the imagery often changes dramatically, as in “Piove a catinelle” versus “It’s raining cats and dogs.” An Apple a Day is illustrated by Italian artist Daniele Simonelli, whose visuals bring the idioms to life. Michela will occasionally reference the illustrations during the event, creating a rich dialogue between words and images. The evening will be a lively conversation about language and culture, perfect for Italian lovers, language enthusiasts, or anyone curious about words and their stories. We hope you will join us for this special celebration of language, creativity, and cultural connection. DESCRIPTION:  

Practice your Italian through film. This engaging class is a perfect blend of language, content, and culture. A film is selected from the rich history of Italian cinema. Each week students watch scenes from the film and discuss them in class through a series of activities that stimulate observation, reflections, vocabulary building, and review of grammar structures.

Immerse yourself in Italian through free-flowing, engaging conversations with your classmates. Through shared stories, exchanges, and experiences, you’ll learn new verbs and structures, review MODI and TEMPI, and expand your vocabulary and idioms. This class leads you toward an increasingly natural command of the language, helping you reach a spontaneous, confident, and fluent level of conversation of la bella lingua.

Along the way, students expand vocabulary, refine grammar, and strengthen speaking skills through interactive activities and collaborative work. Students are encouraged to research cultural topics of personal interest, broadening their appreciation of Italy’s traditions, values, and way of life.

During each course students will explore the unique identity of the different regions in Italy and learn about its culture and history through art, literature, cinema, music, and cooking. Various resources are integrated to create a completely immersive learning experience.

Practice your Italian through the creative language of literature. The approach to literature will stimulate students to understand the plot, to recognize the style and enhance creativeness in speaking and writing. The reading will be accompanied by interactive activities focused on comprehension, vocabulary, and conversation. After taking this course, students will feel encouraged to continue their own percorso in Italian literature.
